• POSTPONEMENT OF M2M 2022

The Troy Wheeler Contracting Maunga to Moana Adventure has been postponed until 2023 (exact date yet to be confirmed).

The M2M committee met at the end of last year and confirmed a postponement in dates to prevent the spread or introduction of COVID into the rural communities of Te Tāirawhiti.

The Maunga to Moana is “Based on whānau, community and manāki” and these are the foundations that the Maunga to Moana Adventure has been built upon says event director Keelan Poi.

“If we were to go ahead” with the event this year “we wouldn’t be adhering to the true essence of the event”, “we wouldn’t be bringing whānau home in a safe environment”.
These were all points that were covered in Mr Poi’s media release last year on social media and reiterated the focus of the M2M committee to protect the whānau at home.

With the vulnerability of the community (Tairāwhiti) in mind the M2M committee had no hesitation in postponing the event till next year.

If there are any competitors who are wishing to look at transfers to next years event, they are urged to look through the policy guide on the website and/or send an email through to the M2M admin.
