All competitors who register for the Maunga to Moana event are highly encouraged to attend the opening ceremony or Powhiri. This ceremony signifies the opening of the M2M event on a spiritual and cultural level.
This is the traditional formal welcome to the area and marks the opening of all activities within the M2M event.
This adds to the authenticity of our event bringing the M2M and East Coast communities together for the first time.
